[Financial News] Comedian Jang Do-yeon received the Entertainer of the Year Award at the 2025 MBC Entertainment Awards, drawing attention for her thoughtful acceptance speech.
On the 29th, Jang Do-yeon was presented with the Entertainer of the Year Award at the ceremony held at MBC in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
Jang Do-yeon remarked, "Thankfully, MBC has given me several awards, but I swear I have never once thought, 'I deserve this.' However, today I feel the most undeserving." She had previously won both the Excellence Award and the Grand Prize at the MBC Entertainment Awards.
She continued, "For 'Adventure by Accident,' I simply followed the script on a program that others worked so hard to produce, and I know how precious my spot on 'Radio Star' is."
She added, "While taking photos with Yoo Se-yoon at the photo zone, the MC asked about the Grand Prize. When Yoo Se-yoon mentioned me, I thought it was a new kind of joke. It makes no sense. I’m not expecting it, and I won’t receive it even if offered. The Grand Prize is out of the question."
Jang Do-yeon stated, "I will keep working hard until my luck runs out. Lately, I’ve been reading 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms,' and everyone who wasn’t humble ended up falling. I will strive to remain humble in this cutthroat entertainment industry."
Jang Do-yeon's emphasis on humility in her acceptance speech has resonated even more, as several star entertainers have recently left programs or suspended their activities amid ongoing controversies and allegations.
Jang Do-yeon is also known as a close friend of Park Na-rae, who recently announced a hiatus from broadcasting and began legal action following allegations of power abuse toward her manager and illegal medical procedures involving the so-called 'Injection Auntie.'
In addition to Park Na-rae, Key of SHINee and Haetnim the Short Mouth admitted to receiving illegal medical procedures from 'Injection Auntie' and have suspended their broadcasting activities. Cho Sae-ho also halted his activities amid rumors of ties to organized crime.
Among the award recipients, Kim Sook was the only one to mention Park Na-rae directly. After winning the Excellence Award for 'Where Is My Home,' Kim Sook expressed gratitude to the production team and fellow members, including Jang Dong-min, Yang Se-hyung, Yang Se-chan, Joo Woo-jae, and team leader Park Na-rae.
