According to Financial News, the film 'Avatar: Fire and Ash,' which premiered on the 17th, has exceeded 4 million cumulative viewers in just 12 days since its release.
On the 29th, the Korean Box Office Information System (KOBIS) reported that 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' attracted 1,053,471 moviegoers over the weekend from December 26 to 28, following Christmas and its second weekend in theaters. The film’s total audience has now reached 4,036,399, making it the fastest-growing release of the year.
In North America, the film opened on the 19th and earned $98.7 million (approximately 142.6 billion won) from Christmas Eve through the weekend. Topping the North American box office, its worldwide gross has reached $760.39 million, or about 1.098 trillion won.
'Avatar: Fire and Ash' follows the Sully family as they grieve the loss of their eldest son, Neteyam. The Ash People, led by Varang, appear before them, and Pandora faces an even greater threat as it is engulfed in fire and ash. The 'Avatar' series previously attracted 13.62 million viewers in Korea and achieved global box office success.
