[Financial News] Dr. Hee-Won Jung, who sparked the 'slow aging' trend, recently filed a complaint against a female researcher in her 30s, Person A, alleging stalking. It has now been revealed that Dr. Jung sent Person A text messages expressing regret over reporting her for stalking.
According to Yonhap News Agency and others on the 26th, Hyesuk Law Firm, representing Person A, released a statement disclosing the text messages Dr. Jung sent to Person A on the 19th.
The released messages show that Dr. Jung sent Person A five texts between 6:56 p.m. and 7:26 p.m. on the 19th, including statements such as "Please spare me," "Me, slow aging, and you as well," "Can we not rebuild things?" and "I truly regret what happened on October 20. I am sorry."
The referenced date, October 20, is when Person A visited Dr. Jung's home to protest copyright infringement, and Dr. Jung reported her for violating the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes. The messages suggest that Dr. Jung regrets filing the stalking complaint.
Hyesuk Law Firm stated, "Dr. Jung contacted the victim directly after realizing that messages containing sexual demands he had previously sent might be reported by the media," and added, "While publicly labeling the victim as a perpetrator, he privately reached out to her, simultaneously threatening and attempting to persuade her."
The firm continued, "Despite requesting just two weeks ago that Dr. Jung refrain from contacting the victim directly, he still reached out," emphasizing, "By ignoring the no-contact request, Dr. Jung's actions themselves constitute stalking."
It was also reported that before sending the texts, Dr. Jung called Person A's father and criticized Person A for over ten minutes, and sent her messages via KakaoTalk.
After sending the texts, Dr. Jung attempted to call Person A when he received no reply, but the call was not answered.
Hyesuk Law Firm asserted, "The core of this case is not only copyright infringement but also sexual and personal exploitation based on an employment relationship," and claimed, "Dr. Jung is not a victim of gaslighting but the perpetrator."
The firm further alleged that Dr. Jung requested Person A to act out a 'dominant and sadistic female persona,' describing it as a typical case where a person in power forces an employee to assume a specific personality and role to satisfy their own sexual and emotional preferences.
Meanwhile, Dr. Jung filed a police complaint against Person A on the 17th for violating the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes and attempted extortion, while Person A filed a complaint against Dr. Jung on the 19th for forcible molestation by abuse of authority, violation of the Copyright Act, false accusation, defamation, and violation of the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes.
As Dr. Jung and Person A have filed criminal complaints against each other, the facts of the case are expected to be clarified through the investigation.
