KOSPI Falls on Individual Selling, 4,100 Level Under Threat [fn Afternoon Market Report]

As of 2:11 p.m., the KOSPI was trading at 4,108.80, down 8.52 points (0.21%) from the previous session.
The KOSPI opened at 4,136.24, up 18.92 points (0.46%) from the previous day, but reversed course in the afternoon and declined.
In the domestic stock market, foreigners and institutions bought 168 billion won and 294.7 billion won worth of shares, respectively, while individual investors sold 451.6 billion won.
Among the top 14 stocks by market capitalization, SK Square (up 1.90%), Shinhan Financial Group (up 1.57%), and Hyundai Motor Company (up 1.22%) showed gains. In contrast, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (down 2.63%), Hanwha Aerospace (down 2.44%), and Doosan Enerbility (down 2.06%) declined.
Samsung Electronics, the largest company by market capitalization on the KOSPI, was trading at 111,200 won, down 0.27% from the previous session.
The KOSDAQ Index was trading at 914.02, down 5.54 points (0.60%) from the previous session. The index opened at 921.01, up 1.45 points (0.16%), but later turned downward.
