[Financial News] In 2026, the highly anticipated musicals 'Hell's Kitchen' and 'Frozen' will have their Korean premieres, sparking new excitement in the country's musical theater scene.
On the 24th, S&Co. announced its 2026 lineup, which centers on two Korean premieres and features both international tours and beloved classics.
First, in July, 'Hell's Kitchen' will make its Korean debut at the GS Art Center in Gangnam, Seoul. Inspired by the life and music of 16-time Grammy Award-winning pop star and singer-songwriter Alicia Keys, the musical vividly captures the spirit and experiences of growing up in New York's Hell's Kitchen. Featuring 20 of her greatest hits, including 'If I Ain't Got You,' along with new songs, the show combines music and street dance choreography to widespread acclaim. It has received numerous accolades, including Tony Awards, Drama Desk Awards for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, and the Drama League Award for Outstanding Production.
Then, in August, the global phenomenon Disney musical 'Frozen' will finally meet Korean audiences. The production promises a spectacular stage that brings to life a world of snow and ice, with live performances of international hits such as 'Let It Go.' The show will open at Charlotte Theater in Seoul in August, followed by a run at Dream Theater in Busan in 2027. As a flagship production from Disney Theatrical Productions, following 'The Lion King' and 'Aladdin,' 'Frozen' is considered one of the most anticipated musicals of 2026.
'Wicked', 'Life of Pi', 'The Phantom of the Opera', 'Dear Evan Hansen'

In addition, works that captured attention in 2025 will continue into early 2026. The international tour of 'Wicked' is currently being staged in Busan and will conclude at Dream Theater on January 18. The final leg of its Korean tour will take place at Keimyung Art Center in Daegu from February 5 to March 1.
Another acclaimed production, 'Life of Pi', will move to Dream Theater in Busan in March after its run at GS Art Center in Seoul.
In the second half of the year, audiences can look forward to the return of beloved classics. In August, 'Dear Evan Hansen', which received a warm reception during its successful Asian premiere in 2024, will return to the main hall of Chungmu Arts Center in Jung-gu, Seoul. With music by the acclaimed duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul—known for 'La La Land' and 'The Greatest Showman'—the show won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. Its sensitive portrayal of growth and loneliness earned it the Tony Awards, Laurence Olivier Awards, and Drama League Award for Outstanding Production. The musical received praise for its modern, sophisticated staging and successful adaptation for Korean audiences.
In December, the timeless classic 'The Phantom of the Opera' will open as a Korean-language production at Blue Square in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Having set the record for the longest-running show on Broadway, it has become an iconic masterpiece of the musical genre.
Meanwhile, S&Co. has previously brought globally beloved productions such as 'Cats', 'The Lion King', 'Aladdin', and 'Hadestown' to audiences in Korea and across Asia. Further details, including specific schedules and casting for each production, will be announced at a later date.
