[Financial News] On the morning of the 24th, a fire broke out at the Olympic Athletes' Village Apartment Complex in Songpa District, Seoul, resulting in two residents being transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest.
According to fire authorities, the blaze occurred at around 5:36 a.m. in one building of the Olympic Athletes' Village Apartment Complex in Bangi-dong, Songpa District. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
The fire department deployed 137 personnel and 38 pieces of equipment, achieving initial suppression by 5:57 a.m. The fire was fully extinguished at 7:11 a.m., about an hour and a half after it started.
Four residents were rescued from the apartment, and two— a woman in her 70s and a man in his 60s—were transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest. One firefighter sustained burns while extinguishing the blaze and received treatment at the scene. Thirty-five residents evacuated on their own.
