Fire at Olympic Athletes and Press Village Apartment Complex in Seoul: Two Residents Transported in Cardiac Arrest

According to The Financial News, at approximately 5:36 a.m. on the 24th, a fire broke out on the fifth floor of the Olympic Athletes and Press Village Apartment Complex in Bangi-dong, Songpa District, Seoul. Two residents were found in cardiac arrest.
The fire department reported that Ms. Kang (female, 60) and Mr. Kim (male, 60), who lived in the affected apartment, were transported to the hospital unconscious.
A man and a woman in their seventies were also rescued from the seventh floor, but they only suffered minor injuries from smoke inhalation. Thirty-five other residents evacuated on their own.
The fire department deployed 87 personnel and 28 pieces of equipment, and fully extinguished the fire at around 7:11 a.m., approximately an hour and a half after it started.
Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire by interviewing witnesses and residents.
