[Financial News] Na Kyung-won, a lawmaker from the People Power Party, once again avoided answering whether she had visited 'Cheon Jeong Gung,' the headquarters of the Unification Church, saying, "The key issue is whether money was received or not."
On the 22nd, during an appearance on the Channel A YouTube program 'Political Signal,' Na Kyung-won responded to Rebuilding Korea Party leader Cho Kuk's demand to answer whether she had visited Cheon Jeong Gung. She stated, "I don't believe that's the main point of the controversy," and added, "The most important question right now is whether money was received or not." She further remarked, "In fact, I have no choice but to criticize former Minister Cho Kuk, who is trying to divert attention."
Na also commented, "The Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) keeps mentioning the names of various politicians in an attempt to push for a special prosecutor into the Unification Church. They likely put my name at the forefront on purpose."
She continued, "Frankly, repeatedly discussing this issue only creates more unnecessary stories, so I would like to state that I will not comment further. However, a special prosecutor for the Unification Church is absolutely necessary."
On the 17th, Na Kyung-won also appeared on CBS Christian Broadcasting Radio's 'CBS Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and, when asked about the Unification Church, said, "I have nothing more to say on that matter." When pressed by the host about whether she had visited Cheon Jeong Gung, she replied, "I already said I would not comment further," again avoiding a direct answer.
Currently, Na Kyung-won is reportedly among the five politicians from both the ruling and opposition parties who were named as recipients of support from the Unification Church, according to testimony given by former Unification Church World Mission Headquarters chief Yoon Young-ho to the Special Prosecutor Team led by Min Joong-ki.
