Lotte World announced on the 22nd that it will host a variety of countdown events on December 31, the last day of the year, to help visitors bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new one.
First, at Lotte World Adventure, the '2026 Light Up Countdown Party' will take place from 10 p.m. on the 31st until 12:10 a.m. the next day. Under the theme of 'Welcoming the New Year with the Light of Hope,' a range of performances and events will offer guests a unique way to celebrate the new year.
The first part of the event begins at 10 p.m., featuring a photo session with seasonal characters and performers who represented Adventure throughout the year. Characters such as Lotty and Lorry from spring, samba performers from summer, horror show characters from autumn, and Santa and elves from winter will all gather to provide a memorable experience for visitors.
At 11:30 p.m., the main countdown celebration will commence. Along the parade route, the 'World of Light' performance will combine lights and music, followed by an electronic live party with a DJ and dancers at midnight.

Lotte World Adventure is also running a grand prize event called 'Find Santa’s Lost Sleigh!' through January 18 of next year to celebrate the holiday season. The event, which offers a Tesla Cybertruck and five Mini Coopers as prizes, invites participants to search for missing pieces of Santa’s sleigh, generating much anticipation.
Meanwhile, at Seoul Sky, the observatory at Lotte World Tower, a countdown party and sunrise event will be held to mark the end of the year. On December 31, operating hours will be extended past midnight, allowing visitors to enjoy the final moments of the year at their leisure.
In addition, a sunrise event will take place early on January 1, the first day of the new year. Guests who purchase the 'Sunrise Package' or 'Private Sunrise Package' can enter Seoul Sky from 6:30 a.m. to enjoy rice cakes and drinks while making New Year’s wishes. Reservations for the sunrise event are available on a first-come, first-served basis through the official Seoul Sky website.
