Daewoo Engineering & Construction Collaborates with France’s Wilmotte & Associés on Distinctive Facade Design for Yeouido Gongjak Apartment

Daewoo Engineering & Construction announced on the 22nd that it will partner with Wilmotte & Associés, a world-renowned design firm from France, to collaborate on a specialized facade design for the reconstruction of the Gongjak Apartment in Yeouido, Seoul.
Wilmotte & Associés is a globally acclaimed architectural firm, known for major landmark projects such as the renovation of the Louvre Museum in Paris and the Élysée Palace. Through this collaboration, Gongjak Apartment is expected to be reborn as a high-end residential landmark, setting a new standard for the Yeouido skyline.
The Gongjak Apartment reconstruction project will consist of three buildings, ranging from seven basement levels to 49 above-ground floors, and will include 570 apartment units, community facilities, office spaces, and retail areas. The total construction cost is estimated at 570.4 billion KRW. Daewoo Engineering & Construction was selected as the main contractor in 2023.
After signing the agreement, representatives from Daewoo Engineering & Construction and Wilmotte & Associés visited the Gongjak Apartment site to inspect the project area and exchange ideas on the exterior design to be applied to the reconstruction.
A representative from Daewoo Engineering & Construction stated, "Our collaboration with Wilmotte & Associés will enable Gongjak Apartment in Yeouido to go beyond a simple residential space and become an iconic design leading the cityscape of Yeouido. This will further enhance Daewoo Engineering & Construction’s design competitiveness in the premium reconstruction market."
