[The Financial News] Anchor Juha Kim broke into tears as she disclosed the reason for her divorce.
On the June 20 episode of Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night aired on MBN, Juha Kim recounted how her ex-husband’s fraudulent marriage involved her mother-in-law, followed by infidelity, physical abuse, and even being taken to the emergency room due to domestic violence.
Juha Kim said, "I first met my husband when my mother-in-law approached me and suggested, 'I have an adult son who isn't married. Would you be interested?'"
She continued, "I was actually someone who didn't want to get married, but after meeting him, I thought I could be with someone who cherished me that much."
Juha Kim stated, "During my marriage, I sensed that my ex-husband and mother-in-law were hiding something from me. While packing for a move, I discovered dozens of documents in my mother-in-law’s closet."
She went on, "In addition to the marriage certificate my ex-husband had shown me, there were two fake ones. One was an original issued in the United States, proving he got married while still legally divorced. The other was a forged document created to make the marriage certificate he showed me." The revelation was shocking.
She added, "There was another document underneath, which showed that he had divorced just a month before marrying me. This meant my ex-husband was still married when we were dating."
She further revealed, "When my ex-husband found out I knew about the fake documents, he said, 'Are you upset? Then step aside.' That comment was extremely shocking to me. At the time, our eldest child was not even a year old."
Juha Kim also shared that her ex-husband began having affairs and even set up his mistress in an apartment right across from their home.
She said, "Whenever I presented evidence of his infidelity, he would become violent. He punched me in the ear, rupturing my eardrum, and I suffered a traumatic brain hemorrhage. Once, he strangled me and I had to be taken to the emergency room. I could endure the abuse against me, but when he started hitting our son, I couldn't take it anymore. He grabbed our child's collar and slapped him repeatedly just because he was late coming out during a game of hide-and-seek. This happened twice."
Juha Kim explained, "Throughout our marriage, my entire salary went toward living expenses, and my husband spent all of his money as well. During the divorce proceedings, I tried to divide our assets, but my ex-husband only had 320,000 won to his name."
She eventually revealed that her ex-husband even tried to seize the deposit for a rental property that was under her name.
Juha Kim married in 2004 and had two children. However, in 2013, she filed for divorce from her ex-husband due to infidelity and violence. After a legal battle lasting over two years, the divorce was finalized in 2016. At that time, the court ordered her ex-husband to divide approximately 1 billion won in assets with her.
