[Financial News] On the 18th, former President Yoon Suk Yeol, who turned 65, released a 'Christmas message from prison,' stating, “Though I am enduring hardship, the Republic of Korea has found hope through the young people.” In front of the Seoul Detention Center, his supporters chanted 'Yoon Again' and set up a birthday table for him.

The message was shared on Facebook by Gye-ri Kim, one of Yoon's attorneys.

In his letter from prison, Yoon Suk Yeol wrote, “Jesus said, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Loving your neighbor means standing together when another’s freedom is trampled. When countless neighbors come together to form a nation, loving your neighbor becomes patriotism.”

He continued, “Therefore, the teachings of Jesus are the practice of patriotism and the power to stop tyranny that suppresses freedom. I am grateful and reassured by the young people who have risen to defend love for their neighbors and their country, upholding freedom, justice, and sovereignty.”
Yoon also stated, “My wife and I have no children. That is why you, the young people, feel like our children. What parent would wish harm upon their child? The urgent need to pass down a just nation to our children is one of the reasons I gave up everything and declared a state of emergency.”

He added, “As a result, though I am suffering in prison, the Republic of Korea has gained hope thanks to the young people.”
Quoting the Bible, 'Our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us,' Yoon said, “Even if you are facing trials and hardships now, your tomorrow will shine even brighter. So, young people, stay strong. You are the light in these dark times. By refusing to remain silent in the face of injustice, you are the disciples of Jesus in this era.”
