[Financial News] Virtual idol group Plave has claimed the top spot on the newly launched 'Billboard Korea Hot 100' chart, established by Billboard and Billboard Korea.
According to Billboard Korea on the 17th, the title track 'BBUU!' from Plave's second single album 'PLBBUU' ranked No. 1 on the Billboard Korea Hot 100 chart for the period of the 5th to the 11th.
Another track from the same album, 'Bongsoong-a,' also reached No. 5, while 'Island' and '12:32 (A to T)' both secured spots in the top 10, demonstrating the group's strong fandom and musical prowess.
Additionally, 'BBUU!' entered the Billboard Global 200 at No. 170 on the same day, highlighting its competitiveness in the international music market.
The 'Billboard Korea Hot 100' is a domestic chart that showcases the most popular songs in Korea, compiled based on official data such as streaming usage and digital sales from major global and domestic music platforms.
Previously, Hwasa's 'Good Goodbye' became the first song to top the chart upon its launch.
Meanwhile, Plave successfully wrapped up their first Asia tour with the 'PLAVE Asia Tour [DASH: Quantum Leap] Encore' held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on November 21-22. The group's second single album 'PLBBUU' recorded 1.09 million copies sold in its first week, marking the second-highest first-week sales for a boy group single in history.
