Heerim Signs MOU with Laos’ Largest Developer PTL Holding

Heerim Architects & Planners, a global architectural firm, announced on the 17th that it attended the 'Laos–Vietnam Railway Project (LVRP) Forum' held in Seoul and signed a memorandum of understanding for mutual cooperation with PTL Holding Company Limited, the largest private infrastructure and logistics developer in Laos.The LVRP is a large-scale infrastructure initiative connecting Vientiane, the capital of Laos, with Vung Ang Port in Vietnam by rail. It is recognized as a key logistics infrastructure project in Southeast Asia. The project aims to transform Laos, a landlocked country, into a land-linked nation by directly connecting it to maritime logistics networks. In addition to railway construction, it encompasses the development of logistics and industrial complexes as well as urban areas, forming a broad economic corridor.Through this MOU, Heerim plans to establish a strategic partnership with PTL Holding, focusing on urban, architectural, and railway-linked development as part of the Laos–Vietnam Railway Project. In particular, the companies will collaborate on projects such as:Station area and mixed-use developmentLogistics and industrial facilitiesUrban master planningHeerim will leverage its extensive global project experience in landmark architectural design to progressively detail its cooperation with PTL Holding on key infrastructure-linked development projects in Laos.A representative from Heerim stated, “Our participation in this forum and the signing of the MOU are significant as they expand the foundation for Korean design and engineering firms to participate in this strategic infrastructure project. Moving forward, we aim to generate tangible results in urban and architectural sectors connected to major transportation and logistics infrastructure in Southeast Asia through close collaboration with the Lao government and PTL Holding.”The forum was organized to discuss cooperation strategies among the governments, relevant agencies, and companies of Korea and Laos for the successful implementation of the LVRP. Held in conjunction with Korea–Laos summit diplomacy, the official event was co-hosted by PTL Holding Company Limited and Yooshin Engineering Corporation, with support from Korea National Railway. Attendees included Saleumxay Kommasith, Deputy Prime Minister of Laos, the Minister of Public Works and Transport of Laos, senior officials from the Investment Promotion and Management Committee, as well as representatives from the Korean government, public institutions, financial organizations, EPC, and engineering firms.
