Namyang Dairy Products announced on the 14th that its flagship instant coffee brand, French Café, has surpassed a cumulative sales volume of 21.4 billion units (based on stick count) in the 15 years since its launch in 2010.
This equates to 415 cups per person in South Korea. Assuming each cup is 100ml, it would be enough to fill Seokchon Lake in Jamsil (636 tons) approximately 34 times.
Since 2020, French Café has expanded into functional instant coffee products in line with the 'healthy pleasure' trend. In 2022, the company launched French Cafe Stevia Coffee Mix, which uses natural sweetener Stevia instead of sugar. The following year, a decaffeinated version was also introduced.
This year, Namyang Dairy Products strengthened its low-sugar, high-protein concept by releasing French Cafe Coffee Mix Stevia Protein Goat Milk, which combines concentrated goat milk protein powder and low-molecular fish collagen.
Namyang Dairy Products is expanding coffee exports across the United States, Asia, and Oceania. In the US, the company produces and exports instant latte products through Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) in partnership with local partners, further strengthening its market presence.
The company has also identified opportunities in Europe. At Anuga, the world’s largest food fair held in Cologne, Germany last October, Namyang Dairy Products showcased a premium lineup with zero-sugar and protein concepts, receiving positive feedback from international buyers.
According to Market Reports World, the global instant coffee market, valued at $31.8 billion in 2024, is projected to grow to $46.6 billion by 2033, with an average annual growth rate of 4.3%.
A representative from Namyang Dairy Products stated, "Domestically, we will continue to meet consumer demand for both taste and health, while overseas, we aim to leverage the Korean instant coffee mix trend as an opportunity to create new growth stories."
