[Financial News] KT Cloud announced on the 11th that it will introduce the 'AI Innovation Center,' the nation’s only technology demonstration hub combining artificial intelligence (AI) data center infrastructure and a showroom.
The center replicates the environment of an actual AI data center, equipped with the latest NVIDIA Blackwell B200 GPUs, AI server racks, Direct-to-Chip Liquid Cooling System (D2C), and AI networks. In particular, KT Cloud has focused on implementing cooling technologies that are currently being commercialized and technically validated.
KT Cloud is proactively responding to the D2C liquid cooling method, which has become the standard for global AI servers. The company demonstrated the operation of a server-based D2C liquid cooling system composed of eight 1kW modules (totaling 8kW), and was the first in Korea to commercialize this technology at the Gasan AI Data Center. To achieve this, KT Cloud developed its own server and rack-based load modules and has verified conditions such as coolant flow, pressure, and temperature in accordance with the B200 and NVL723 specifications.
A real-life model of immersion cooling technology, which cools AI servers by submerging them in a special liquid, was also showcased. KT Cloud stated that proof-of-concept (PoC) load tests confirmed up to 60% energy savings.
In collaboration with Arista Networks, Inc., KT Cloud established an AI-dedicated network within the center based on RDMA over Converged Ethernet version 2 (RoCEv2). This network enables ultra-fast data transfer between AI servers and features next-generation Ethernet Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) technology, which offers greater cost efficiency and scalability compared to InfiniBand.
KT Cloud also introduced its self-developed standard rack-based AI power infrastructure. This standard rack features a high-density power supply structure that reliably supports AI servers exceeding 20kW. By applying a DC 48V power supply, energy efficiency and stability have been enhanced. The modular design allows for easy expansion and replacement, and compatibility is ensured by adhering to Open Compute Project (OCP) standards.
Ji-Woong Choi, CEO of KT Cloud, stated, “The AI Innovation Center is not just a showroom, but a core platform for demonstrating next-generation data center technologies and realizing customer value-driven AI infrastructure. We aim to set a new standard for data center technology innovation and lead the growth of Korea’s AI ecosystem.”
