[Financial News] The Seoul Central District Court has rejected an appeal filed by Lee Jun-seok, leader of the Reform Party (RP), who claimed that the search and seizure conducted by the Kim Keon Hee Special Prosecutor Team, led by Min Joong-ki, was unlawful.
On the 10th, Judge Woo Min-je of the Seoul Central District Court dismissed the appeal filed by Lee regarding the search and seizure. An appeal of this kind is a procedure in which a party requests the court to cancel or change a judge’s ruling or an investigative agency’s action, such as a search and seizure, if they object to it.
Previously, the Special Prosecutor Team searched Lee’s office at the National Assembly Members’ Office Building in Yeouido on July 30 in connection with allegations of Myung Tae-kyun’s involvement in candidate nominations. At the time, Lee was identified as a suspect while serving as the leader of the People Power Party.
Lee claimed that during the search and seizure, the Special Prosecutor Team entered search terms such as 'Han Dong-hoon,' which were unrelated to the allegations, into the computer, prompting his attorney to intervene. He subsequently filed the appeal.
