The Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS) is expanding K-Mobility Inspection Technology throughout Asia and Australasia. TS announced on the 10th that, together with the International Motor Vehicle Inspection Committee (CITA), it hosted the '2025 CITA Asia and Australasia Regional Web Conference' on the 9th.
The conference, themed 'Efforts to Improve Vehicle Inspection for a Safer and Cleaner Tomorrow,' brought together over 40 experts from member countries in Asia and Australasia—including Korea, Japan, and Singapore—as well as from Europe, such as Germany and Belgium. Participants shared and discussed trends in future vehicle inspection technologies and regulations.
The event was divided into two sessions: 'Vehicle Compliance in Asia and Australasia' and 'Future Vehicle Inspection.'
In the first session, TS drew attention by presenting the results of Korea’s on-site Electric Vehicle (EV) inspection demonstration. The second session highlighted the development status of the Korean Autonomous Driving Assessment System (KADAS), with European experts also contributing. DEKRA emphasized the impact of ADAS on vehicle safety and the role of periodic technical inspection (PTI), while Scale MT from Germany shared its experience with particle number (PN) measurement and explained the importance of emissions management.
As the chair country for the CITA Asia and Australasia region, TS leads the annual conference and continues to promote Korea’s EV and self-driving car inspection technologies internationally. TS evaluated this year’s event as a valuable opportunity to facilitate technical exchanges among member countries, overcoming physical barriers.
Yong-Sik Jung, President of TS, stated, “This conference was a venue to explore the direction of inspection technology in the rapidly changing future mobility environment.” He added, “We will continue to showcase the excellence of the K-Mobility Inspection System to the world and strengthen our position as a global leader.”
