[Financial News] Broadcaster Park Na-rae, who suspended her activities amid allegations of power abuse, stated that she personally met with her former managers to clear up misunderstandings. However, the managers have publicly disputed her claims, intensifying the controversy.
On the 9th, Park Na-rae’s former managers told Channel A that while they did have a three-hour conversation with Park, 'we did not receive an apology, nor was there any agreement between the parties.' The previous day (the 8th), Park had posted a statement on her social networking service (SNS), announcing her hiatus from broadcasting and asserting that she had resolved misunderstandings by meeting with her former managers.
The managers said, 'We told her,
They also argued, 'It felt like she only met with us to prepare a statement. It seems she is trying to buy time and sway public opinion.' Park Na-rae’s agency was asked for a response to the managers’ claims but reportedly did not reply.
The controversy began on the 3rd, when the former managers filed for a provisional seizure of Park Na-rae’s real estate at the Seoul Western District Court, alleging that they had suffered special assault, verbal abuse, proxy prescriptions, and workplace harassment. On the 5th, they filed criminal complaints against Park Na-rae at the Seoul Gangnam Police Station for special assault, defamation by spreading false information, and violations of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection. They also announced plans to file a damages lawsuit worth 100 million won.
Amid these developments, further revelations about Park Na-rae surfaced, fueling the power abuse allegations. Park’s side countered by stating, 'Even after receiving severance pay, they demanded an amount equivalent to 10% of the previous year’s sales,' and filed a countersuit for blackmail.
