[Financial News] Jeon Jae-soo, Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, who has been accused of receiving money from the Unification Church, has denied the allegations, stating they are unfounded.
On the 9th, Jeon Jae-soo wrote on his Facebook account, "All allegations of me receiving money are entirely false and not a single claim is true," adding, "I have never received any money or valuables from the Unification Church or any other source, either in my official capacity or in my personal life."
He further stated, "Fabricating and spreading baseless statements as if they were facts is clearly a false manipulation and constitutes a serious criminal act that directly damages my honor and the credibility of my public office." He emphasized, "I will hold those responsible for false reports and malicious distortions fully accountable by all legal means, without exception."
Previously, Joongang Tongyang Broadcasting Company (JTBC) reported that Young Ho Yun, former head of the Unification Church World Headquarters, testified to the Min Jung-ki Special Prosecutor Team that he provided Jeon Jae-soo with 30 to 40 million won in cash and two luxury watches between 2018 and 2020. Jeon Jae-soo is currently in New York to promote the bid to host the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC).
