Police Raid Coupang Headquarters Over Personal Data Leak

Coupang.
The police have launched a compulsory investigation into Coupang after the personal information of 33.7 million customers was leaked.
On the morning of the 9th, the Cyber Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency (SMPA) announced that it was conducting a search and seizure at Coupang's headquarters in Songpa District.
Seventeen officers, including the head of the dedicated investigation team and the chief of the Cyber Crime Investigation Unit at the SMPA (Superintendent), were dispatched to the scene.
A police official explained, "This search and seizure is an essential measure to accurately identify the facts of the case," adding, "Based on the secured digital evidence, we plan to comprehensively determine the identity of those responsible for the data leak, the leak route, and its cause."
The police are tracking the Internet Protocol address (IP address) used in the crime after receiving server log records and other materials voluntarily submitted by Coupang.
