[Financial News] On the 9th, President Lee Jae-myung stated, "The government will firmly support K-Food so that it can continue to grow as a strategic export industry beyond the domestic market."
During his opening remarks at the 53rd State Council meeting held at the Office of the President of the Republic of Korea in Yongsan, President Lee noted, "With the global popularity of K-Culture, interest in K-Food has surged, and from the beginning of this year through last month, K-Food exports reached an all-time high." He added, "Demand for our food products continues to rise."
He further instructed relevant ministries to devise measures such as overseas marketing, logistics support, development of tourism-linked products, and strengthening intellectual property rights protection.
President Lee explained, "When exporting products, advertising the products themselves is one method, but what matters more is favorability." He analyzed, "A positive perception of Korea and Korean culture has translated into a favorable view of Korean products."
He also remarked, "Recently, the growing favorability toward Korean culture has led to increased exports of Korean products, and I believe service exports will follow suit." He emphasized, "It is crucial to enhance the preference for Korean culture and to promote Korea itself."
