A man in the United States of America (USA) who has five wives and fourteen children has drawn public attention after his story was revealed.

According to foreign media outlets such as The Sun on the 8th local time, James Barrett (30), who lives in the USA, is known to have five wives and fourteen children. By sharing the daily life of his large family through his social networking service (SNS), he has amassed more than 112,000 followers.

Barrett stated, "When people hear the word 'Polyamory,' they often assume there is neither a real family nor genuine love." He added, "But by looking at us, we can prove them wrong." Polyamory is a compound word formed from the Greek 'poly,' meaning 'many,' and the Latin 'amor,' meaning 'love.'
Polyamory refers to the concept of loving more than one person at the same time without exclusivity. Polyamorists are known to pursue relationships that are not bound by traditional marriage and do not focus solely on one partner.

Barrett's five wives are Cameron (29), Jessica (31), Reta (28), Gabi (30), and Diana (30). They refer to themselves as 'sister wives' and explained that they cooperate with each other in raising their children.
James said, "I have been with Cameron and Jessica the longest." He continued, "The most recent wife I married is Diana, and we have been together for four years." He also admitted, "Even in previous monogamous relationships, I was always unfaithful. I have always had a desire for diversity, not just in women but in all things."
He explained that Polyamory has improved both his relationships and parenting approach. "I receive a lot of help from my spouses in terms of love and raising children, and I always wanted a large family, so I am happy with how things turned out," he said.
However, Barrett emphasized that Polyamory is not always positive. He noted, "Leading five wives and fourteen children is challenging, and providing them with emotional and financial support is also a difficult task."
