[Financial News] Seongsu Station on Seoul Subway Line 2 will now be co-named as 'MUSINSA Station.'
MUSINSA announced on the 9th that the co-naming of Seongsu Station will begin on the 10th.
Seoul Metro operates a program that allows companies and organizations in station areas to pay for the right to co-name subway stations.
Inside and outside Seongsu Station, the MUSINSA name will be displayed on station name signs, directional signs in the concourse, platform signs, safety door signs, subway line maps, and announced in train broadcasts.
On Seoul Subway Line 2 trains heading to Seongsu Station, announcements will be made in both Korean and English, stating, 'Next stop: Seongsu, MUSINSA Station.' MUSINSA conducted tests of the announcement and other preparations since October.
MUSINSA was selected as the final bidder in a public e-bidding announced by Seoul Metro in September, winning with a bid of 329,292,929 KRW. The contract lasts for three years, with the possibility of a one-time three-year extension.
MUSINSA stated that this co-naming recognizes its efforts to help establish Seongsu-dong as a leading fashion district.
Since relocating its headquarters to Seongsu-dong in September 2022, MUSINSA has engaged in various community outreach activities for local residents. The number of MUSINSA employees has grown from about 500 in 2021 to over 1,800 today, more than tripling. Sales increased by 170%, from approximately 460 billion KRW to 1.24 trillion KRW as of the end of last year.
A MUSINSA representative remarked, "Since relocating our headquarters, the concentration of K-Fashion brands has revitalized the local economy. We will continue to work with the community to further develop Korea’s leading fashion district."
