[Financial News] Another Korean man was found dead in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, prompting an investigation by local police. This incident comes just two weeks after the body of another Korean man was discovered in a large suitcase in a luxury residential area of Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Joongang Tongyang Broadcasting Company (JTBC) and other sources on the 8th, a Korean man was found dead the previous day in a luxury villa in Ho Chi Minh City.
The man was discovered in a shower booth, and it is estimated that he died approximately five days prior.
Local police are focusing their investigation on the possibility that someone murdered the man and staged the scene to look like a suicide.
Police are reportedly investigating various possibilities, including the man’s identity and whether he was connected to any criminal organizations.
A representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City has requested a prompt and thorough investigation from the local authorities since first learning of the incident." The official added, "We have notified the bereaved family of the death and are providing necessary consular assistance, including guidance on funeral procedures."
The official also noted, "As the investigation is ongoing locally, it is difficult to disclose further details at this time."
Previously, on the 23rd of last month, another Korean man was found dead inside a large blue suitcase near a luxury residential area in Ho Chi Minh City.
Security guards and passersby reported the suitcase to local police after noticing a strange odor coming from it.
Mr. A (25) and Mr. B (24), who were near the suitcase, attempted to flee by taxi when a crowd gathered, but were eventually apprehended by local police.
Investigations revealed that Mr. A was affiliated with a criminal gang in the Gyeongbuk region and was under surveillance by the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency, while Mr. B, who helped dispose of the body, was not linked to any specific gang.
The deceased man was reportedly involved in scam operations in places such as the Wench criminal district in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
