Cho Gab-je, head of Cho Gab-je.com, attends a special lecture by Thae Yong-ho, former minister at the North Korean Embassy in the UK, on the prospects of the US-North Korea summit and inter-Korean relations, held at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 14th.

Conservative commentator Cho Gab-je, head of Cho Gab-je.com, argued that the statement released by former President Yoon Suk Yeol on the first anniversary of the December 3 Martial Law should be taught in Korean language classes as an example of poor writing, not exemplary prose.
On May 5, appearing on SBS Radio 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show,' Cho Gab-je criticized Yoon Suk Yeol’s statement, saying, “It lacks logic and dignity.”
Previously, former President Yoon Suk Yeol claimed in a message titled 'A Message to the People on December 3' that last year’s martial law was a resolute fulfillment of his constitutional duty to protect the freedom and sovereignty of the people.
Cho Gab-je pointed out that Yoon Suk Yeol’s statement was filled with exaggeration, fabrication, and distortion, remarking, “It’s not a long statement, but to pack so many problems into such a short piece is a skill in itself.”
He further criticized Yoon Suk Yeol for still being trapped in conspiracy theories about election fraud. Regarding the line in the statement, 'All responsibility lies with me as the commander-in-chief,' Cho Gab-je commented, “That’s something to say in court. In court, he keeps shifting responsibility for the martial law onto his subordinates.”
Cho Gab-je continued, “If the martial law was justified, in court he should say, ‘I ordered everything. I take full responsibility, and my subordinates should not be blamed at all.’ But his words and actions don’t match,” sharply mocking Yoon Suk Yeol’s statement.
On May 4, on his website Cho Gab-je.com, Cho Gab-je also cited a passage from Kim Seong-han’s 'Seven Years' War,' stating, “The phrase, ‘An incompetent ruler is a criminal in history who deserves to be executed a thousand times,’ seems to have been written for Yoon Suk Yeol.”
