[The Financial News] Broadcaster Park Na-rae has refuted the claims made by her former managers.
On the 5th, Anpark, Park Na-rae's agency, stated, "We are currently verifying the facts regarding recent media reports based on the claims of Park Na-rae's former managers. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and concern caused by the delay in our official response." The agency continued, "Two employees who worked with Park Na-rae for about one year and three months recently resigned, and we paid their severance as required. However, after their departure, these employees demanded an additional amount equivalent to 10% of the company’s previous year’s revenue."
Anpark added, "As time passed, they continued to make new claims, increasing pressure on both Park Na-rae and the company. The amount they demanded also grew, eventually reaching several hundred million won." The agency noted, "Park Na-rae has suffered significant emotional burden and psychological distress due to the sudden resignations, the baseless allegations, the escalating monetary demands, and the pressure exerted through the media."
Regarding the delay in registering as a popular culture and arts planning business, Anpark explained, "As a small-scale agency, we only recently discovered the delay in registration. The former employees who raised the issue were responsible for this task at the time and falsely reported that all procedures had been completed."
The agency continued, "After leaving the company, these individuals reported the situation to the media, and we became fully aware of the circumstances through related press inquiries. We deeply reflect on our operational shortcomings and are now swiftly following the proper legal procedures."
Anpark emphasized, "Both the company and Park Na-rae acknowledge the operational shortcomings and have no intention of evading responsibility for any mistakes." The agency added, "However, as unnecessary misunderstandings and pressure persist due to claims that do not reflect the facts, we have decided that we can no longer comply with unilateral demands. After legal review, we have resolved to take the necessary legal action."
Previously, Park Na-rae faced allegations from her former managers of verbal abuse, assault, and harassment. The former managers are reportedly preparing a damages lawsuit against Park Na-rae and have recently filed for a provisional seizure of her real estate at the Seoul Western District Court.
