[Financial News] J.Y. Park, the head of JYP Entertainment and a singer, has donated 1 billion KRW of his personal funds to support children from vulnerable groups both in Korea and abroad. Since 2022, he has contributed 1 billion KRW each year, bringing his total donations over four years to 4 billion KRW.
JYP Entertainment announced on the 5th that on the 4th, J.Y. Park delivered 200 million KRW each to Gachon University Gil Hospital, Konyang University Hospital, and Seoul National University Children's Hospital, as well as 400 million KRW to World Vision, at the JYP headquarters in Gangdong-gu, Seoul.
The donation to World Vision will be used to support medical expenses for children in Mexico and the Federative Republic of Brazil, as well as to aid recovery and child support in Asian regions such as Thailand, the Republic of Indonesia, and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, which have recently suffered severe damage from floods and landslides.
At the donation ceremony, J.Y. Park stated, "I hope that every child, who has infinite potential to change the world, will be able to dream freely and grow up healthy. I ask that you provide them with the best possible care, and I hope the donations reach those who truly need them."
He added, "I have two daughters, ages six and five. When I meet children who have received treatment, their bright eyes remind me of my own daughters, which makes this even more meaningful to me. Going forward, not only myself but also JYP Entertainment and all our artists will continue to work hard and share with others."
JYP Entertainment, led by chief producer J.Y. Park, also donated 1.714 billion KRW this year, and has contributed a cumulative total of 7.92 billion KRW since 2020.
