[Financial News] Broadcaster Jang Sung-kyu denied rumors of earning 3 billion won annually and revealed that he is currently facing financial difficulties. He candidly shared that even his YouTube channel is operating at a loss.
On the 3rd, a video titled 'Married Men Secretly Shopping for a House Without Their Wives' was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Manrijangseongyu.'

Jang Sung-kyu visited a newly built apartment in Seocho District, Seoul, accompanied by fellow broadcaster Jeon Min-ki. They consulted with real estate expert Kim In-man.
Jang Sung-kyu mentioned that he was considering moving for his children's education. He explained, 'It's not because of academics, but because my eldest plays tennis. I'm looking for a middle school with a tennis team and thinking about relocating to that area.'
During the discussion on real estate policies, Kim In-man used Jang Sung-kyu as an example, saying, 'Jang Sung-kyu has been working hard lately and is earning well. He makes about 3 billion won a year.' Jang Sung-kyu responded with a laugh, saying, 'That would be great.'
When Jeon Min-ki asked again if he really earned that much, Jang Sung-kyu replied, 'No, it's tough these days,' and honestly admitted, 'Even the Manrijangseongyu channel is currently in the red.'
Jang Sung-kyu joined Joongang Tongyang Broadcasting Company (JTBC) as an announcer in 2012, left the company in 2019, and began working as a freelance broadcaster.
In 2021, it was revealed that he purchased a building with two basement floors and four above-ground floors in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul under his corporate name for about 6.5 billion won. The building has recently made headlines again as reports indicate its value has risen to around 10 billion won.
Last September, in a Q&A interview celebrating his role as MC of 'From One to Ten,' Jang Sung-kyu reflected on his freelance career. He shared, 'Since becoming a freelancer, I haven't been out of work for the past five to six years.' He added, 'Unlike when I was a salaried employee, my income increased as a freelancer paid per appearance, but I always tried not to let my guard down, knowing that it could all end in an instant.'
