[Financial News] The identity of Kim Youngwoo (54), the murderer of the missing woman in Cheongju, has been disclosed.
On the 4th, the Chungbuk Provincial Police Agency released Kim’s name, age, and photograph on its website.
The Chungbuk Provincial Police Agency held a review committee the previous day and decided to disclose the personal information of Kim Youngwoo, who was arrested on charges of murder and abandoning a body.
The committee reportedly considered the brutality of the crime, the seriousness of the damage, and the opinions of the victim’s family.
Kim did not file any objections regarding the disclosure.
This is the first time that a criminal’s personal information has been made public in Chungbuk.
Meanwhile, Kim Youngwoo is accused of stabbing his former partner, victim A (in her 50s), more than ten times with a weapon inside her SUV, which was parked in a roadside parking lot in Munbaek-myeon, Jincheon County, Chungbuk, on October 14.
Kim, who operates a wastewater treatment business in Jincheon, allegedly moved the body to his own vehicle after the crime, went to work the next day, and after leaving work around 6 p.m., disposed of the body in a wastewater treatment tank at a client’s facility in Eumseong County.
Based on Kim Youngwoo’s confession, police recovered victim A’s body approximately 44 days after her disappearance.
