[Financial News] A story has emerged in which a neighbor used a golf club to break the window of a parked car, causing approximately 1 million won in damages.
On the 3rd, 'Case Chief' on Joongang Tongyang Broadcasting Company (JTBC) featured the story of Mr. A, who suffered damages due to a neighbor's actions in the villa parking lot.
According to Mr. A, at around 11:30 a.m. on the 1st, Mr. B, a neighbor, damaged Mr. A's parked car in the parking lot of a villa in Gwanak District, Seoul.
Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the parking lot showed a man in a long padded coat entering, removing his coat, and rummaging through the residents' mailboxes.
The man then approached a parked car with a golf club, bowed toward the vehicle, and suddenly struck the front windshield before fleeing the scene.
As a result, the front windshield was shattered, and Mr. A reported suffering approximately 1 million won in damages, including the cost of replacing the windshield.
Upon discovering the damage, Mr. A reported the incident to the police.
An investigation revealed that the man who damaged Mr. A's car was Mr. B, a neighbor who used to live in the apartment above.
Mr. B was known to have lived with his mother in the apartment above Mr. A and moved out to live independently about six months ago.
Mr. A stated, "There was conflict with the upstairs neighbor in the past due to noise between floors," but added, "That was several years ago, so I don't think it was the cause of this incident."
Mr. B's mother pleaded with Mr. A for leniency, saying, "I don't know why my son did this."
Police identified Mr. B and attempted to contact him, but he is reportedly avoiding their calls.
