KOSPI Recovers to 3,980 Level on Foreign and Institutional Buying [fn Afternoon Market Report]

[Financial News] On the 2nd, the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rebounded to the 3,980 level, driven by buying from foreign and institutional investors.
As of 3:11 p.m. today, the KOSPI was trading at 3,987.90, up 67.53 points (1.72%) from the previous session.
The KOSPI opened at 3,939.09, up 18.72 points (0.48%) from the previous close. In the domestic main board market, individual investors sold 1.4667 trillion won, while foreign investors and institutional investors purchased 899.3 billion won and 597.9 billion won, respectively.
Among the top 14 stocks by market capitalization, all except Celltrion (-0.97%), Doosan Enerbility (-0.27%), and Samsung Biologics (-0.12%) posted gains. Hyundai Motor (4.72%), KB Financial Group (4.43%), and Kia Corporation (4.01%) led the advances.
Samsung Electronics, the largest company by market capitalization on the KOSPI, was trading at 103,200 won, up 2.38% from the previous session.
The KOSDAQ Index was at 927.61, up 5.23 points (0.57%) from the previous day. The index opened at 921.37, down 1.01 points (0.11%).
