[Financial News] Lim Se-ryung, Vice Chair of Daesang Group, attended her son Jeeho Lee’s commissioning ceremony as a Navy second lieutenant, drawing attention for her fashion choices at the event.
According to industry sources on the 2nd, Vice Chair Lim attended the 139th commissioning ceremony for naval officer candidates at the Republic of Korea Naval Academy on the 28th of last month, congratulating her eldest son Jeeho Lee on his commissioning as a Navy second lieutenant.
At the event, she showcased an 'all-black' ensemble, pairing a long black coat with black sunglasses and a black tote bag.
The sunglasses worn by Vice Chair Lim are the 'SL 782' model from French luxury brand Saint Laurent, known for its smooth, curved design. These sunglasses are available at duty-free shops for approximately KRW 400,000 to 600,000, but are already sold out on major platforms.
For her coat, she chose the 'Michael Rider Coat' from French luxury brand Celine’s 2026 Spring/Summer collection. The official retail price has not yet been announced.
The bag Lim carried was the signature Agnes tote bag from American brand The Row, launched in 2006 by Hollywood actresses Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen. The bag is known to be priced between KRW 6.4 million and 7.4 million.
The Row has recently gained popularity among celebrities, including Hotel Shilla President Lee Boo-jin, Jennie Kim of BLACKPINK, actresses Ko So-young and Han Ga-in, and others. Last year, The Row opened its first store at Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam Branch.
After photos from the commissioning ceremony were released, luxury fashion communities and social media buzzed with comments such as, "Does anyone know where her sunglasses are from?", "Simple yet elegant, the epitome of 'old money' style", "She has the best fashion sense among chaebols", and "The bag is so sophisticated."
This is not the first time Lim’s fashion has drawn attention. Earlier this year, she made headlines for her vacation style with actor Lee Jung-jae, featuring a swimsuit with a U-shaped back and a jumpsuit.
She also garnered attention when she attended the Chanel 2022 Fall Couture Fashion Show in Paris with her daughter Madison Lee, wearing a purple cotton jacket from Chanel’s 2022 Spring/Summer ready-to-wear collection, priced at approximately KRW 8.1 million.
