At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Jeon Hyun-hee stated, “Today, I am concluding my 470-day journey and stepping down from my position as Supreme Council member. I am now ready to embark on a new path. I will strive for a united government that brings together the central and local administrations, and I am determined to secure victory in the upcoming local elections to ensure the DPK returns to power.”
Han Jun-ho also remarked, “Today’s Supreme Council meeting will likely be my last. For the time being, I will do my utmost to support colleagues who have suffered due to political prosecutors and to expose those who attempted to bring down President Lee Jae Myung. I will always cherish the 470 days I spent with the people as a Supreme Council member.”
Kim Byung-joo added, “Today, for the complete eradication of rebellion and for the success of the Lee Jae Myung administration, I am resigning from my position as Supreme Council member.” He also pledged to hold those responsible for insurrection accountable, to work toward the dissolution of the People Power Party, and to contribute to the success of the Lee Jae Myung administration.
The Supreme Council members who resigned today are reportedly planning to run for Seoul Metropolitan City Mayor and Governor of Gyeonggi Province in the June 3 local elections next year.
