The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) announced on the 1st that it has signed a business agreement with Naver Pay to enhance shopping tourism and payment convenience for foreign visitors. The partnership aims to expand the Near Field Communication (NFC) payment infrastructure.
Under this agreement, the two organizations will collaborate on distributing Naver Pay’s offline integrated terminal, 'Npay Connect,' providing comprehensive tourism information integrated with NAVER Map, and promoting NFC payment services to affiliated merchants.
The agreement will significantly increase the number of merchants offering contactless payments, and information about these merchants will be available on NAVER Map. Additionally, reviews left by domestic users will be translated into English, Chinese, and Japanese, enabling foreign tourists to access reliable local information.
Yoo Han-soon, head of the Shopping & Accommodation Team at KTO, stated, “In addition to existing mobile QR payments, we will expand various payment infrastructures such as NFC and prepaid cards to enhance payment convenience for inbound tourists and improve their overall satisfaction.”
