[The Financial News] A man in his 30s was penalized after causing a disturbance at a convenience store terrace by deliberately spilling ramen broth, putting his feet on the counter, and spitting gum and saliva, all because his request for a refund was denied.
On the 29th, presiding judge Taekseong Kim of the Chuncheon District Court announced that Mr. A (36), who was indicted on charges of obstruction of business and property damage, was sentenced to a fine of 2 million won with a one-year suspended sentence.
Mr. A was summarily indicted for spilling ramen broth on three tables at the convenience store terrace, putting his feet on the counter, and spitting gum and saliva.
Investigations revealed that Mr. A committed these acts out of dissatisfaction after Mr. B prevented him from drinking beer inside the store and refused to refund items he had purchased.
The indictment also stated that Mr. A knocked down and damaged goods worth about 47,000 won, including cup noodles, nuts, bibim noodles, seaweed, and gum, by hitting them off the shelf with his shoulder.
Mr. A objected to the summary order, which concludes a case without a formal trial, but presiding judge Kim found him guilty and imposed a suspended fine.
