[Financial News] The 'Human Washing Machine,' which drew significant attention when it was introduced at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, is finally going on sale. The price is expected to be around 60 million yen (about 564,000 USD).
On the 26th, JIJI PRESS reported that YAMADA HOLDINGS will sell the 'Mirai Human Washing Machine' at its flagship electronics store, LABI Ikebukuro Main Store, located in Toshima, Tokyo.
The 'Human Washing Machine' was developed by Japanese shower component manufacturer Science. It is an evolved version of the original 'Human Washing Machine' first exhibited by Sanyo Electric at the 1970 Expo in Osaka. The device resembles an egg in shape and uses a mechanism that generates fine bubbles to wash the user.
Users simply lie down in a 2.3-meter-long capsule, and for about 15 minutes, fine bubbles and mist automatically clean and dry the entire body. During the bath, sensors on the back monitor the user's health information, while relaxing visuals and music are provided.
This product became a sensation as a 'futuristic bathing experience' at the Osaka Healthcare Pavilion during the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, held last April. More than 40,000 people applied to try it, reflecting the high level of interest.
Aoyama Yasuaki, president of Science, stated, "We hope that those who could not attend the Expo will take this opportunity to experience the technology firsthand."
Demonstrations of the product will begin in stores starting December 25, and a special area will be set up for visitors to try it themselves. The official sales date has not yet been determined.
