[Financial News] The Special Prosecutor Team for Insurrection and Treason, led by Cho Eun-seok, requested cooperation from the Kim Keon Hee Special Prosecutor Team, headed by Min Joong-ki, to obtain communication records of Kim Keon-hee.
According to legal sources on the 25th, the Special Prosecutor Team for Insurrection and Treason executed a search and seizure warrant at the Kim Keon Hee Special Prosecutor Team the previous day to secure Kim’s communication records. This execution of the warrant was part of inter-team cooperation for the request and transfer of materials.
During the investigation into Park Sung-jae, former Minister of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ), for alleged involvement in martial law, the Special Prosecutor Team reportedly identified evidence suggesting that Kim Keon-hee was directly or indirectly involved in the December 3 Martial Law, prompting the request for a warrant.
The Special Prosecutor Team suspects that the defense against Kim Keon-hee’s legal risks, including allegations of stock manipulation involving DEUTSCH MOTORS INC., was one of the motivations for former President Yoon to declare martial law. They are also considering the possibility that former Minister Park was aware of and sympathetic to this motivation.
