[Financial News] Actor Lee Yi-kyung (36) has hinted at taking legal action against German woman A, who spread rumors about his private life, and it is reported that the suspect's identity may soon be uncovered.
According to a report by Dispatch on the 24th, the court issued a search and seizure warrant for A's account on the 21st. As a result, the police plan to speed up the investigation by securing access records and IP addresses from the portal site and Social Networking Service (SNS) accounts used by A.
On this day, Lee Yi-kyung shared related news reports on his SNS account to inform followers about the progress of the investigation.
Previously, on the 21st, Lee posted a photo of the complaint, explaining, "The reason I haven't spoken about my position until now is because my agency asked me to refrain from commenting until I had appointed a lawyer and completed the criminal complaint against the distributor."
He continued, "A few days ago, I visited Seoul Gangnam Police Station to give my statement as the complainant," and added, "I conveyed my position regarding the rumors and have completed the process of filing complaints for defamation by threat and dissemination of false information."
He also confessed, "I was overwhelmed with anger every single moment," and added, "A person claiming to be a German, whose identity and reality are unknown, repeatedly appeared and disappeared, sending threatening emails to the company months ago. The company told me there was no reason to engage in a battle over false information and tried to calm me down once more."
He emphasized, "The conclusion you are all curious about is that, now that the warrant has been issued, the suspect will soon be identified. Even if the person is in Germany, I will personally go there to file the complaint. There will be no leniency for malicious commenters either."
Last month, on the 20th, an internet user A, who introduced herself as German, released photos and chat messages she claimed were exchanged with Lee Yi-kyung, sparking controversy over his private life.
At the time, Lee Yi-kyung’s side, through his agency, stated that the claims were false and announced plans for legal action. Later, A explained that the photos had been manipulated using Artificial Intelligence (AI), but on the 19th, she reversed her statement, insisting, "All the evidence is real," further fueling the controversy.
