According to The Financial News, most divorced singles in their 40s and 50s feel their spouse’s absence most acutely during seemingly trivial moments in daily life.
A joint survey conducted by remarriage agency Only U and matchmaking company Bienarae from the 17th to the 23rd of this month targeted 526 divorced singles nationwide who hope to remarry. The responses to 'moments in daily life when you miss having a spouse' revealed clear differences between men and women.
For men, the most common answer was 'when I need honey water,' such as after a hangover or when feeling sick (33.1%). This was followed by 'when tired of eating alone' (29.3%), 'attending family events' (19.4%), and 'when my back itches' (12.5%).
Women, on the other hand, found it most difficult 'when moving heavy objects.' 'When moving flower pots' ranked first at 34.6%, followed by 'attending family events' (27.8%), 'when I need honey water' (17.5%), and 'when tired of eating alone' (14.5%).
The gender gap was also evident in 'moments when living as a divorced single makes you feel the need to remarry.' For men, the main reasons were 'when I want comfort' (34.2%) and 'when visiting elderly parents' (26.6%).
In contrast, women most strongly felt the need to remarry 'when the future feels uncertain' (28.5%) and 'when working due to financial reasons' (25.1%).
