According to The Financial News, local police have launched an investigation after the body of a Korean man was discovered inside a large suitcase in a residential area of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
On the 24th (local time), the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City reported that the previous afternoon, a man's body was found near a residential building in Ho Chi Minh City.
The body was placed inside a large blue suitcase. After a strange odor was noticed coming from the bag, a security guard and passersby alerted the local police.
At the time, two men were seen near the suitcase, but they quickly fled the scene in a taxi when bystanders gathered. Police cordoned off the area, recovered the body, and identified the deceased as a Korean national.
Local authorities are working to determine the time and cause of death, noting that the body was partially decomposed. Two Korean nationals suspected of involvement in the case have been detained for questioning.
A representative from the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City stated, "We were informed by local police that the deceased was a Korean national," adding, "We will contact the family and provide consular assistance."
