Personal lives of the two BJs exposed... 'All claims are true'
According to The Korea Herald Business on the 24th, Judge Kim Kwang-seop of the Jeju District Court sentenced Hikong on charges of defamation by stating facts under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (ICNA), insult, and violation of the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes.
In July 2023, Hikong posted on her social networking service (SNS), saying, "I was in a romantic relationship with BJ Namsun, became pregnant with his child, and had an abortion." She further claimed, "After the procedure, Namsun never visited me at the hospital and pretended not to know about the abortion, ignoring me completely."
Hikong also released screenshots of her conversations with BJ Namsun, stating, "I asked him to send 1.3 million won for the surgery, but Namsun demanded proof of the expense and requested copies of my bankbook and resident registration card."
During this process, messages between the two were made public, including statements such as, "Everyone around you says they've slept with you," "Please don't make me feel ashamed for having dated you," "Why did you make me get an abortion?" and "Why did you abandon me?"
As the controversy grew, Hikong stated, "I'm not after money. I just want an apology." She added, "While I was being verbally abused by Namsun's fans, he continued to ignore me. My depression worsened to the point of being hospitalized in a psychiatric facility, and since I received no words of comfort, I decided to go public with my story."
In response to Hikong's revelations, Namsun stated, "I am currently proceeding with legal action against Hikong. If the court finds any of her claims to be true, I will disclose everything on my broadcast." He further emphasized, "I will not show leniency toward malicious comments or false information. Everyone responsible will be punished."
Court finds Hikong guilty of insult, defamation, and stalking... Fined 3 million won
Meanwhile, according to media reports, most of the key points revealed by Hikong during the trial were found to be true. The court stated, "The defendant (Hikong) underwent an abortion on December 28, 2022. The victim (Namsun) and the defendant had sexual relations around November 2022."
However, the court found Hikong guilty of insult, defamation, and stalking. Regarding the insult charge, the court noted, "During the process of exposing the incident, the defendant posted abusive language about the victim, such as calling him 'crazy' and 'completely uneducated,' and thus is found guilty."
The court further explained, "The defendant disclosed text messages implying that the victim (Namsun) ignored the defendant's abortion after becoming pregnant through their relationship. By publicly revealing these facts with the intent to slander, the defendant damaged the victim's reputation."
Additionally, the court recognized the stalking charge, stating, "Around June 2023, the defendant sent messages such as 'What does this mean?' to the victim, repeating texts and calls approximately 80 times despite the victim's explicit refusal."
