Standard Chartered Bank Korea announced on the 20th that it has launched the Apgujeong Private Banking Center, applying the global private banking model verified by its parent company, Standard Chartered Group, in advanced financial markets.
The Apgujeong Private Banking Center, newly opened in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, is the first in Korea to introduce the global wealth management center model that has succeeded in Standard Chartered Group’s key markets such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates (UAE), India, and China. Standard Chartered Bank Korea plans to expand the Apgujeong Private Banking Center model to other areas with a high concentration of wealthy clients, including Seoul, the metropolitan area, and Busan.

The center is staffed by 22 dedicated relationship managers (RMs), including the center head, as well as four specialists in investment, foreign exchange, and insurance. All private bankers (PBs) responsible for wealth management have at least 10 years of experience and have completed the SC-INSEAD Wealth Academy, a joint program between Institut Européen d'Administration des Affaires (INSEAD) and Standard Chartered Group.
The center will also offer private banking wealth management solutions, personalized asset management by dedicated RMs and expert teams, one-stop planning for inheritance, gifting, and business succession across generations, and premium global experiences and benefits tailored to clients’ lifestyles.
Kwanghee Lee, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Korea, stated, "Based on world-class global investment strategies, we will provide advanced financial solutions to the domestic market."
