Chauffeur Arrested for Threatening Chairman’s Family with Infant in Gangnam

[The Financial News] A chauffeur for an executive at a regional company was apprehended by police after threatening the chairman’s family with a weapon in an attempt to steal valuables.
The Seoul Gangnam Police Station announced on the 20th that a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, was urgently detained and is under investigation on suspicion of attempted aggravated robbery.
Mr. A, who had been working as a chauffeur for the executive, is accused of threatening a woman and an infant from the chairman’s family with a weapon inside a vehicle in Gangnam District, Seoul, around 6 p.m. the previous day, demanding cash.
Police brought Mr. A in for questioning and discovered the weapon nearby, leading to his emergency arrest after about three hours.
The police have booked Mr. A and are investigating the circumstances of the crime and the motive behind his demand for money.
