[The Financial News] A man struck it rich by winning first prize in the lottery while on a business trip, securing a windfall of 500 million won. His wife, who feared the worst when she received an unexpected call from her husband at dawn, was relieved to hear the good news.
Recently, the Donghaeng Lottery website shared the special story of the first prize winner from the 100th round of Speetto 1000.
The winner, Mr. A, hit the jackpot of 500 million won with a ticket purchased at a lottery shop located in Haechang-ri, Paltan-myeon, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do.
Mr. A explained, "While on a business trip, I thought about exchanging a previously purchased lottery ticket that had won a small prize. I spotted a lottery shop while driving, noticed there was parking available, and decided to stop in."
Initially planning to exchange only his winning ticket, he impulsively bought a few more tickets than usual. Later, back at his accommodation, Mr. A scratched the tickets and was stunned to discover he had won the first prize of 500 million won.
"I was so happy that I shouted out loud. A wave of excitement and emotion came over me," Mr. A recalled. "Even though it was late at night, my wife was the first person who came to mind, so I called her right away."
His wife, startled by the late-night call and fearing something had happened, was initially in disbelief when she heard about the lottery win.
Mr. A shared, "I plan to use the prize money to pay off our loans and give the rest to my wife. I hope this win allows my family to live more comfortably."
