President Lee Arrives in Cairo, Egypt... Attention on Greater Middle East Initiative Following Summit

Cairo (Egypt) — President Lee Jae-myung arrived in Cairo on the evening of the 19th (local time), marking the start of his three-day official visit to Egypt.
President Lee and First Lady Kim Hea Kyung landed at Cairo International Airport at approximately 7:33 p.m. (local time) on the 19th.
On the Egyptian side, Minister of Education Mohamed Abdel Latif and his spouse, Presidential Aide-de-camp Amr Sami, and Chief of Protocol Ahmed Reda welcomed President Lee and the First Lady. Representing the Korean side were Ambassador to Egypt Kim Yong-hyun and his spouse, as well as Jaewon Park, President of the Korean Association in Egypt.
Egypt is the second Middle Eastern country President Lee is visiting in connection with his attendance at the G20 Summit. The two countries maintain a comprehensive cooperative partnership.
On the following day, the 20th (local time), President Lee is scheduled to hold a summit and official luncheon with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
After the luncheon, President Lee will visit Cairo University to deliver a lecture on the Greater Middle East Initiative and will also meet with members of the Korean community in Egypt.
Upon concluding his schedule in Egypt, President Lee will travel to the Republic of South Africa on the 22nd to 23rd (local time) to attend the G20 Summit.
