[Financial News] A woman in her 30s, who is a YouTuber, attacked a Broadcast Jockey (BJ) with a weapon during a livestream. It was revealed that she committed the crime after becoming angry at the statement, 'We are not in a relationship.'
Joongang Tongyang Broadcasting Company (JTBC) 'Case Chief' covered the recent stabbing incident involving a YouTuber in Bucheon on the 18th.
Last September in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, a female YouTuber, referred to as A, attacked a male YouTuber, B, with a weapon during his livestream. B sustained injuries to his abdomen, arm, and hand, and was immediately taken to the hospital for surgery.
It was confirmed that the two met through YouTube broadcasts. They planned to film a video with a honeymoon concept and traveled to Taiwan, but had a disagreement while there.
Later, both A and B invited fellow YouTubers, making a group of four who gathered for drinks and started a broadcast. During the stream, a viewer commented that B seemed to get along better with A's acquaintance than with A. Upon seeing this, A became upset and said she would go home. B, surprised, responded, 'Why are you angry? We're not actually dating.'
After returning home, A came back with a weapon and committed the attack.
B told the media, 'I thought A had just gone home, but viewers said she was downstairs at the bar. When I went to get her, she suddenly appeared and stabbed me. She stabbed my abdomen twice, and while I tried to defend myself, my hand was stabbed twice as well.'
B suffered injuries to his arm and abdomen that require eight weeks of hospital treatment.
After the incident, A was urgently arrested at her home and is scheduled to stand trial for aggravated assault on the 15th of next month.
The Prosecution Service stated, 'A became angry after hearing the victim say at a bar in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, that they were not in a relationship. After returning home and watching the YouTube broadcast, she felt humiliated and decided to inflict harm.'
A's attorney commented, 'She fully acknowledges all charges and is deeply remorseful. She sincerely apologizes to the victim.'
