"KRW 500,000—Is This for Real?"... The Shilla Seoul Sells Ultra-Luxury Cake, Limited to Three Per Day

[The Financial News] The Shilla Seoul is launching five varieties of Holiday Special Cake.
The Holiday Special Cakes will be released sequentially starting on the 24th and will be available for a limited period of about 40 days until December 31. In addition, more than ten regular cake varieties will also be available.
The truffle cake, 'The Finest Luxury,' is priced at KRW 500,000. Due to the use of rare seasonal truffles, only up to three cakes can be purchased per day.
When the truffle-shaped chocolate is cut in half, a slice of white fresh truffle can be enjoyed with its delicate aroma. By using both black truffle and fresh white truffle, the cake’s fragrance and flavor are further enhanced.
The Finest Luxury has surpassed last year’s 'The Taste of Luxury' cake, which was introduced by The Shilla Seoul at KRW 400,000, setting a new record for the most expensive hotel cake. It is expected to be the highest-priced cake among hotel offerings.
This year’s upgraded 'The Joyful Shilla Bear' features a Shilla Bear holding a gift box. Each of the six flavors is handcrafted, and only up to seven cakes are available per day. The price is KRW 350,000.
The Shilla Seoul is also releasing three additional cakes: the truffle cake 'Noir Truffle Mini,' the original tree cake 'White Holiday,' and the red velvet cake 'Luminous Red.'
Among the Holiday Special Cakes, 'The Joyful Shilla Bear' and 'Luminous Red' will be available from November 24, while 'The Finest Luxury,' 'White Holiday,' and 'Noir Truffle Mini' can be purchased starting December 1.
