[Financial News] The cause of death for a university student from Yecheon, North Gyeongsang Province, who died in the Kingdom of Cambodia last August, was found to be traumatic shock resulting from assault.
According to the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency on the 17th, a joint autopsy was conducted on the 20th of last month in the Kingdom of Cambodia by Korean police and the National Forensic Service (NFS). The NFS concluded that the student died from traumatic shock.
The student's body showed extensive bruises and other signs of assault. However, there were no stab wounds or organ removal, according to reports.
Tissue analysis also revealed no traces of drugs or toxic substances.
However, the NFS noted in its autopsy report that if only a small amount of drugs had been administered, it might not be detected after some time.
The student told his family on July 17 that he was going to an expo and left the country. On August 8, his body was discovered in the cargo bed of a truck near a criminal complex at Bokor Mountain in Kampot Province, southern Kingdom of Cambodia.
Three Chinese nationals suspected of murdering the student were indicted and detained in the Kingdom of Cambodia on the 10th of last month. However, two others, including Li Guangho, a Chinese national of Korean descent identified as the main suspect, remain at large.
Two Korean recruiters who lured the student to the Kingdom of Cambodia have also been indicted and are awaiting trial.
A police official emphasized, "We are tracking the main suspect and related individuals, and will ensure they are apprehended and brought to justice."
