[Financial News] The virtual boy group Plave has reached a new career high with their latest single album.
According to Hanteo Chart on the 16th, Plave’s second single album 'PLBBUU', released on the 10th, surpassed 1.09 million copies in first-week sales, setting a new personal record for the group.
Plave, who recorded 27,000 first-week sales with their debut album, became the first boy group and the first virtual idol to achieve over 1 million first-week sales with their third mini-album 'Caligo Pt.1', less than two years after debut.
This single album once again marks a career high, demonstrating their steady popularity and rapid growth.
Notably, despite having only two versions, 'PLBBUU' achieved the second-highest first-week sales for a boy group single in history, following BTS (Bangtan Boys)'s 'Butter'. The collaboration with Sanrio Characters also added collectible value, contributing to its success.
The digital track’s performance is also remarkable. The title song 'BBUU!' reached number one on iTunes in seven countries, including Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Peru.
With impressive achievements in both digital and physical sales, as well as a sold-out concert at Gocheok Sky Dome, anticipation is high for Plave’s future activities.
